We dialed a great day for the Enchilada. As per TopoFusion, total mileage for the full route was 29.99 with 5,000+ feet of gentle ascent. Modifications were necessitated because a machine was working in the rock pit, robbing some of the Enchilada riders of a trip up Creation.
Ben’s punishing route had us climbing Easy Peasy right off the bat. There was a collective “Ugh” from the participants.
The Taco was 18 miles with approximately 3,000 feet of elevation gain. It was a great reminder that - despite all the logging and road-building in the past two years - we still have a ton of stellar trail. In particular, Cabin Fever, MD2020, BOGO, SISL, and Outer Limits drew all kinds of positive comments.
I will simply list elapsed times below, accompanied by comments, because so many people customized their rides. Thanks to everyone for just coming out and having a great ride rather than worrying about if they made the right turn at every intersection. I didn’t hear a single person complain that there wasn’t enough mileage or climbing.
Thanks to Al Cabrera for bringing a home-brewed hazy IPA for the after-party. Unfortunately, Al went down with a knee injury early in the day and was forced to head home.
Up next are Coldwater on June 3-4 and TDG on June 18.
