Enchilada, Taco, Chips & Salsa Sign-up

There’s only one question - Who’s dumb enough?

We have three routes to test your skill and stamina on May 11th.

*The Grande Enchilada: 28 miles with somewhere between 5,000 and 7,500 feet of vertical. The Enchilada route will give you a great tour of the system, provided you do not succumb to hallucinations.
*The Taco: 20-21 miles with 3,300 feet of climbing. I’ve done this one several times. It ain’t a gimmee.
*The Chips & Salsa: 15.8 miles with 2,300 feet of ascent. We set this one up as a beginner epic, and it will not disappoint.

Ride routes can be viewed here.

These rides are self-supported. It’s possible some kind soul might set up an aid station along the way, but don’t count on it.

General info and tips -

*Everyone starts from my house: 465 Growlers Gulch Road
*This is a shotgun start. There will be a sign-in sheet. Sign-in when you leave. Sign-in when you return.
*If you are thinking it’s going to take you awhile, start early. I will probably start at about 7. Try to time it so that you are back by 2 if possible.
*If you are doing the Enchilada and are worried about having enough food and fluid, the best place to stage stuff is near the bottom of Trust Me where it intersects with BOGO.
*Even people who don’t normally cramp have cramped on this one. It might work for you, but in my opinion sports drink is not nearly enough. I will be packing plenty of electrolytes, in addition to the other pharmaceuticals old people carry in their packs - Vicodin, Tylenol 3, and maybe some Ox or Percocet in the event that things get really bad.
*Bring a lawn chair and post-ride food and fluid. We will all be waiting for and cheering for people as they roll in.
*It’s on you to know the route. Consider printing a copy and putting it in your pack. I will try to paint arrows on the road or trail in trickier places but you are ultimately responsible.
*It’s easy to say that you’re going to ride with somebody but it doesn’t often happen unless you ride pretty much the same pace or fully commit to hanging together. It’s much more likely you will be riding by yourself the entire day.
*It’s possible I might barbecue some brats for the after-party. I will get back to you with details.
*Contact me at seattle0@hotmail.com to get your name on the list.
